  1. Is there a time limit in which the event must be completed?
    1. Yes the course time limits are as follows:
      1. 5K – 90 minutes
      2. 10K – 3 hours
      3. Half Marathon – 3 hours 30 minutes
  2. Where does the race start? Where does it end?
    1. All three distances, 5K, 10K and half marathon, begin and end on Grand Boulevard near Crown Center
  3. I would like to participate in the Hospital Hill Re-Run, how do I add the second event?
    1. You can email kelly@hospitalhillrun.com and we will be able to transfer you to the new Re-Run category.  We are only able to transfer a registration as long as a category is still available.
  4. Will the UMKC School of Medicine 5K course change?
    1. Yes, the UMKC School of Medicine 5K will still start and finish on Grand Blvd. in front of Crown Center Square.  The course will head south on Gilham and North on Hospital Hill.  A course map can be found here.
  5. Where does the course go?
    1. The Half Marathon course will showcase downtown Kansas City, including the Sprint Center and the Country Club Plaza. For more detail, view our course map.
  6. Is this race hilly?
    1. Of course! It’s not called Hospital Hill for nothing. But what goes up must also go down. It is a challenging course, loaded with beautiful scenery and fun spectators along the way. View our elevation map for further detail.
  7. Do I have to register online?
    1. No. You can register online, by mail or possibly during packet pickup IF open spots remain available at packet pickup. There is no race day registration.
    2. Please note that the 2009-2014 Hospital Hill Run events sold out and there was no race weekend registration available. For guaranteed entry, please register online or by mail as early as possible. The home page of the website and Facebook page will have up-to-date information regarding registration and availability.
  8. Where and when is packet pickup?
    1. All participants will need to pick up their bib numbers, timing devices and event swag at the Hospital Hill Run Health & Fitness Expo. The expo will take place at the Crown Center Exhibit Hall (located next to the Sheraton Crown Center). For more information visit the Health & Fitness Expo web page.
    2. Only 5K packets can be picked up on race day, please ensure you arrive early enough to get your packet and to the start. There is no race day packet pickup for Saturday half marathon and 10K events.
  9. Where do I park on race day?

  10. After I register can I switch race distances?
    1. Yes assuming there is space available. You can self-edit your registration by following the instructions located here. Entrant is responsible for a $10 change fee and any difference in event entry fees.
  11. What if my name is spelled wrong, my age is wrong, etc.?
    1. Registrations can be self-edited by clicking here
      1. If you are having difficulty self editing your registration email Kelly Rasor, kelly@hospitalhillrun.com.
  12. Can I use my own ChampionChip?
    1. No. Hospital Hill Run does not use ChampionChip timing devices. We use the Chronotrack bib tag, which is part of your race number.
  13. I registered but can’t participate; can I still pick up my swag?
    1.  Please stop by our Health and Fitness Expo (dates/times available above), during packet pickup, and obtain your bib and swag. We will NOT be mailing any swag or medals.
  14. I won’t be able to participate. Can I transfer my registration to next year or give it to a friend?
    1. No. We are sorry, but we do not allow you to transfer your registration or deferrals.
  15. I have a friend who would like to volunteer. Can he help?
    1. Yes! Please email andrea@hospitalhillrun.com for more information.
  16. Can a friend or family member pick up my packet?
    1. Yes. The person picking up your packet must have your bib number and a copy of your confirmation email when they come to packet pickup.
